Are my eyes wide open? Is this merely illusion? Am I seeing straight? It's such a beautiful day. No more wars of distraction No more obscene reactions Just a simple breeze Everyone's happy and Oh there are no words there are no words there are no words All the sick are now healthy All the hungry now fed Kindness in the air and how the old are but young. It's known love is the answer Unchained we are from gender The earth is more green than ever Everyone's smiling and Oh I see many women I see many children I see many people (Dreamy Uke Solo) Take me back to that place
2.
Say what's meant to be said out loud Do it now for the whole world to hear You are here and you are now anyhow speak loudly and clear Nobody knows all the answers No time for fear and doubt so Would you find a little truth and share it with me? Would you find a little truth for me?

New You 02:46
I can tell what I seen things I've done wars I've won the love I've given and had returned the lessons that I've learned I can tell right from wrong and when I'm feelin' like I belong so when you tell me that I can grow I already know I know you're there behind the eyes I see that someone's close to you I know you're in there behind the eyes I see a new you I can tell just as well as you do that I'm a fool but things that made me so long ago are only passing through I can tell or I can listen I can learn to open up these ears so when you tell me that I have grown I'll already know I know you're there behind the eyes I see that someone's close to you I know you're in there behind the eyes I see a new you

246 Miles 04:47
(Lily: Waking up Lipstick stained on my coffee cup Little messes I never clean Dust caked on the TV When you're in town my feet never touch the ground I'm home) (John: Photographs I keep of us in my dorm room I know I'm heading home soon for you Pack the car turn the key and press the gas I'm coming home) 2 Takes me back to you 4 This drive is such a bore 6 So we can fix the things that Miles brought about us (2x) (Lily: Sweep the floor pick up the pieces that weren't there before... the clock is ticking on and on I wish that it'd go faster I love it when we're home) (John: Interstate living in the fast lane eyes fixed on the bumper of the car in front of me it would take a miracle for him to go faster help me get home) 2 Takes me back to you 4 This drive is such a bore 6 So we can fix the things that Miles brought about us (2x) (John: Distance is travel) (Lily: Distance is time) (Both: put my arms around you, and you're mine) 2 Takes me back to you 4 This drive is such a bore 6 So we can fix the things that Miles brought about us (6x - 2 times normal, then split)

Every now and then I'd wake up with a fresh new start seeing people as they are instead of works of art the canvas may be stripped of paint a dream strung out thin but no imperfection masks the goodness from within from within Now I look into the mirror with a change of heart seeing past the outer layer, every little part I can see the freckles patches of dry skin but no imperfection masks the goodness from within from within I would like to fly put the stars in someone else's sky I would like to fly put the stars in someone else's sky I could meet a friend of mine halfway to the park If you're sad and lonely a friend could be the start we could tell good stories Oh how we'd laugh and grin and no imperfection masks the goodness from within from within I also have another friend, sweetest kid you'll meet sometimes we can disagree but friendship can't be beat people can be civil respect is not a sin no imperfection masks the goodness from within from within I would like to fly put the stars in someone else's sky I would like to fly put the stars in someone else's sky (outro)

We could be a million miles apart but that don't change a thing, girl I love you You're mother nature's art Oh my heart flutters when I'm around you and you know it I'd run or swim or Drive or fly or crawl You know it's true 'Cuz if I could be anything I'd be everything for you We could be runnin' from the law but that don't change a thing, girl I love you Without a care at all Oh my heart flutters when I'm around you and you know it I'd steal or lie or Kill or die for You know it's true 'Cuz if I could be anything I'd be everything for you (heavy metal guitar solo) We will be wrinkly and old but that won't change a thing, girl I love you and even when I'm bald my heart will still flutter when I'm around you and you'll know it Arthritis will not remove me from this love You know it's true 'Cuz if I could be anything I'd be everything for you

Where have I grown? Past the fields, trees, and flowers to you. What have I known? I cannot say but I know that I'm happiest with you. Reach out your hand, Open your mind, You'll find it in due time love of mine. Oh I was blind Until I crossed the threshold and held your hand for the first time. But now I've seen the prettiest of mornings where your eyes happen to wonder onto me. Reach out your hand, Open your mind, You'll find it in due time love of mine. All it takes to understand is two lone hands entwined. Take your hand into mine, love of mine. Reach out your hand, Open your mind, You'll find it in due time love of mine. (Cue whistling outro bit)

about

John Shields and Lily Abner set out to create a more positive music, complete with simple melodies, a ukulele, and love. Made in the backyards and living rooms of our houses and on campus and by a creek. We had a lot of fun making this little thing!
