Sometime in November - Wrote lyrics at school as a positive affirmation, then drove home for thanksgiving and recorded with Lily. Was unhappy with original recording so I tried to re-record on several occasions but ended up liking the original the best after some tweaks.
lyrics
I can tell
what I seen
things I've done
wars I've won
the love I've given
and had returned
the lessons that I've learned
I can tell
right from wrong
and when I'm feelin'
like I belong
so when you tell me
that I can grow
I already know
I know you're there
behind the eyes I see that someone's close to you
I know you're in there
behind the eyes I see a new you
I can tell
just as well
as you do
that I'm a fool
but things that made me
so long ago
are only passing through
I can tell
or I can listen
I can learn to
open up these ears
so when you tell me
that I have grown
I'll already know
I know you're there
behind the eyes I see that someone's close to you
I know you're in there
behind the eyes I see a new you
